1. Understand What the % Means
The percentage refers to Visible Light Transmission (VLT) — how much visible light can pass through the film:

Higher % (e.g., 50%, 70%) = Lighter tint, more visible light comes through.
Lower % (e.g., 5%, 20%) = Darker tint, less visible light comes through.

2. Consider Your Goals

Goal	Suggested VLT %	Notes
Heat & UV Reduction	20%–35%	Blocks a lot of heat and UV. Even lighter films like 50% can offer good UV rejection.
Privacy	5%–20%	Lower % tints give more privacy (e.g., limo tint at 5%).
