Civic Nation
The 1993 Honda Civic Coupe was part of the fifth generation of Honda Civics, which was produced from 1991 to 1995. This generation of Civics is known for its reliability, fuel efficiency, and compact size. The 1993 Civic Coupe came with several engine options, including a 1.5-liter inline-4 engine and a more powerful 1.6-liter inline-4 engine. It was available in various trim levels, including the DX, VX, and EX.
Standard features in the 1993 Civic Coupe included front-wheel drive, a five-speed manual transmission (with an optional four-speed automatic transmission), power steering, and dual airbags for safety. Air conditioning, power windows, and a sunroof were available as optional features in higher trim levels.
This One Is Special
This particular car was purchased in 1998 and the final transformation was done in 1999 at which time the decision to go full custom was made and we left nothing to the imagination. Everything you see here was conceived and constructed by Yamil and his team, in a garage and it took right at two years to complete.
The budget was small so the team had to utilize their collective knowledge and a lot of work to accomplish this magnificent work of art and performance.
The car has an Integra front end conversion, a functional Lexus IS 300 headlight conversion and the whole car is modeled. The front bumper, the side skirts and the rear bumper are all molded.
The roof rails, door handles and the side moldings are all off and shaved making for the smooth hard to know what’s happening here look. The car is completely shaved which even amazed us when we did it. The idea that we could accomplish this with very little resources and even less money was mind blowing. The most important thing about this effort was that we learned how to do things that we did not know how to do and we learned how to work together as a team. Little did we know that all these years later, our garage project would still be turning heads.
The Lambo doors and fiberglass interior is the stuff that made cars famous back then, especially a Honda Civic. The dash is custom with a centered gauge cluster, a monitor and a PS1. We challenged ourselves to make what we thought about, a reality.
Full fiberglass doors with lights and gauges that accentuate those in the dash and all around the vehicle. There’s a full blown custom audio system with Polk Audio and Coustic Audio equipment. 3, 10 inch subs provide the beat.
We’re not done yet!
The car rides on air and it has a set of Nos bottles that let you know it’s not just a show pony. It can get down if need be. While it’s not a sleeper, that getup and go is the last thing that one would expect. The interior has a custom headliner and low rider style seats which give it one of the most unique set of features of any car at a show or just riding through the neighborhood.
The engine is an H22 Swap with a T3T4 Turbo and it was one of the first of its kind at the time. Everything from the motor mounts to the AEM rear disc conversion is custom. Kyowa Racing provided the wheels and they were one of our sponsors early on.
It won its fair share of shows here in the GA and is still considered a legend in its own time.
